Fan Builds Massive 80,000-Piece Lego Kaer Morhen Inspired by The Witcher 3

The Witcher universe has inspired countless fan creations, from artwork to mods, but few are as ambitious as this massive Lego recreation of Witcher 3’s Kaer Morhen. Reddit user u/Rampart87 built an incredible 80,000-piece Lego model of Geralt’s iconic stronghold, and the result is nothing short of breathtaking.

A True Labor of Love

This build is what the Lego community calls a MOC or “My Own Creation”, meaning it wasn’t built using official Lego instructions. Instead, u/Rampart87 painstakingly designed and assembled every detail by hand, using in-game screenshots from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as inspiration. The process took over 300 hours to complete.

And if you think this is just a digital render, think again. The model is 100% real and weighs over 100 pounds! Reddit user u/Threctory even saw it in person and posted additional images, confirming the staggering scale and intricacy of the build.

How Do You Get 80,000 Lego Pieces?

Acquiring that many bricks is no small feat. Lego builders often collect pieces from multiple official sets, buy bulk parts directly from Lego, or source them from third-party resellers.

u/Rampart87 used their existing Lego collection, making it difficult to calculate the total cost. However, based on the common estimate of 10 cents per piece, a build of this size could cost around $8,000 if recreated from scratch. The creator, however, estimates the individual parts value at $3,000 to $7,000.

The Ultimate Witcher Tribute

Kaer Morhen, the ancient fortress of the witchers, plays an important role in both the Witcher books and The Witcher 3, serving as Geralt’s home and the site of key story events. Seeing it recreated in Lego form is a testament to both the dedication of Witcher fans and the limitless creativity of Lego builders.

Will Lego Ever Make Witcher-Themed Sets?

While Lego has yet to release any official Witcher sets, this build proves just how well the franchise translates into brick form. Perhaps one day, we’ll see an official Lego Witcher line. We already have numerous Lego sets themed after famous books & movies, including Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings, so it would fit right in.

As someone who loved Lego as a kid and teenager, I would absolutely tell them to shut up and take my money if they released something like this. Before you go, here’s a little test: try to identify all of our beloved Witcher characters in the screenshots!
