CD Projekt RED’s highly anticipated next installment in The Witcher saga, currently known by its codename “Polaris,” has made significant strides in development throughout 2024. According to an earnings report by the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Piotr Nielubowicz, the project has achieved “substantial progress” in the first half of 2024.
“The Polaris team – working on the next game in The Witcher saga – made substantial progress, which will soon enable us to wrap up pre-production and take this project to the full production phase,” Nielubowicz said in the video.
This update aligns with the studio’s earlier projections. In May, CD Projekt revealed that over 400 people were already working on The Witcher 4. Recent slides accompanying Nielubowicz’s video message show a slight increase in the team size, growing from 407 people in April 2024 to 410 by July 2024.
While fans eagerly await more details about the game, including its official title, the steady progress, and growing team size indicate that CD Projekt is investing significant resources into ensuring the next Witcher game lives up to its predecessor.
Hopefully, it also means that Witcher 4 may be released as early as 2025.
