Netflix has set February 11, 2025, as the premiere date for its upcoming animated film “The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.”
The announcement came during Netflix’s Geeked Week event, accompanied by an exclusive clip introduced by Doug Cockle, who voices Geralt of Rivia in both the video game series and the forthcoming movie.
This animated adventure follows Geralt as he investigates mysterious attacks in a coastal village. The plot thickens as Geralt becomes entangled in an age-old conflict between humans and sea-dwelling creatures. To unravel the mystery and prevent an all-out war between the two realms, he must rely on both familiar allies and new acquaintances.
The sneak peek featured the voices of Cockle as Geralt and Joey Batey reprising his role as Jaskier. Anya Chalotra, known for her portrayal of Yennefer in the live-action “The Witcher” series, will also lend her voice to the animated film. Newcomer Christina Wren joins the cast as the voice of Essi Daven.
“Sirens of the Deep” draws inspiration from “A Little Sacrifice,” a short story by Andrzej Sapkowski set in the Witcher universe, which was not adapted for the first season of the live-action show. This film marks the second animated feature in the franchise, following 2021’s “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf,” which explored the backstory of Vesemir, Geralt’s mentor.
