According to CDPR’s latest (Q3) earnings report, about 50% of its dev team is now working on Witcher: Polaris, the code name for the next major Witcher game.
Additionally, roughly 25% of devs working on Cyberpunk 2077 are currently listed “in transfer,” which means many of them will also be joining the Witcher Polaris team soon.
According to IGN, CDPR expects over 400 developers to be working on Polaris by the middle of 2024.
Called “Witcher 4” by many fans, Witcher: Polaris was announced in March 2022. It will be the first game in a brand new Witcher trilogy built on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5. Polaris is not expected to come out until at least 2025.
