Netflix has officially confirmed that its Witcher series will conclude with a fifth season. In addition, Netflix also stated that the show’s fourth and fifth seasons will cover and be inspired by the remaining three Witcher books: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake.
The show’s fourth season is currently being filmed back-to-back with the fifth one. The cast will feature Liam Hemsworth in the role of Geralt following Henry Cavill’s controversial departure. The rest of the cast remains the same, in addition to the new faces, like Laurence Fishburne as Regis, the fan-favorite vampire.
Netflix’s summary of the fourth season reads:
…the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri, who are separated and traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again.
